Le Vallon des Glauges – Eyguières.
Just a few quick photos from my late morning drive before getting back to work – I just couldn’t control the itch to get out and explore for at least a little while. When I have time, I’m planning to go back and hike the GR6 which runs through this area and offers several routes through wooded areas, castle ruins, and along streams and canals. There’s also quite a bit of interesting history in the area – from antiquity to the middle ages, to the French Revolution. Nowadays, Eyguières is just a quiet little Provencal town.
I also couldn’t quite resist (notice my complete lack of will power) stopping at the “Domaine Vallon de Glauges” winery. I did forgo the early morning tasting (I guess I do have a tiny bit of restraint after all), but left with a couple of bottles. The red “Reserve des Opies” (15€) which we opened for lunch was DELICIOUS ! Looking forward to trying the late harvest white wine for our next aperitif. This winery is one of the many along “Les Routes des Vins de Provence“. What can I say ? So much wine, so little time…
Hope you enjoyed the pics ! Stay tuned, more to come…
